We see a lot of people come and go here at Alamo River. We have some that are here for the first time and others that have returned many times.
Our goal is the same no matter if they are new friends or returning ones.
To create an environment that allows for our guests to enjoy what we have been blessed with here by nature.
We love sharing it at every opportunity.
But to what end?
Well...
Last weekend we had a group of visitors that camped for a couple days down by the river. As they were leaving I asked them if they had a good time.
Their response was to apologize if they had laughed too much and perhaps too loud.
Wow -- now that is a good problem to have!
I told them that having them laugh is what we are in business for! The smiles, the relaxation, the enjoyment of nature -- that is what it is all about.
You see we truly do care about the experience our guests have -- we want them to always feel welcomed and appreciated. We never forget this! It is why we are in business -- to provide a little bit of rest from a sometimes stressful world.
What a great product to be able to offer! It is the blessings of the land, water and wildlife that we are allowed to borrow for a time and share with those that venture into Alamo River Resort.
We know it is about the people -- always about the people -- and the trust they put in us to come and share the precious time they have to themselves.
We understand the value of that time and will respect it.
But really -- the pleasure is all ours -- as is the privilege to serve -- for this we say thank you for the opportunity!!!

Met some great people from the UK.
We had some guests from the UK arrive the other day and are staying with us for a few days.
So we took the opportunity to take them for a tour of our lower area and had the chance to see some deer as well as the normal flocks of different birds. They remarked how quiet it was and they found it beautiful.
After our tour we came back to the top and (being off work) we had a glass of wine while discussing the different culture of our two countries. Our conversation lasted for a couple of hours and was interlaced with laughter and insights from all of our experiences.
The point to this story is not so much this particular incident but more so an example of what happens in campgrounds.
Campgrounds such as ours here at Alamo River attracts people from all over the US as well as the world. There is a natural environment that is conducive to good conversation. People that are camping are looking for relaxation and activities that are not the norm in the day-to-day pace of life we all live these days.
In this environment friendships even though brief can be incubated in a short time.
I have often wondered if we shouldn't have some of our government and world leaders go camping together -- under the stars -- with peace and quiet -- could be some interesting conversation...
...maybe just maybe also some progress for the betterment of this 'ol world. :)

Easter Weekend...Great Experience!
We had a great Easter Weekend here at Alamo River!
The park was full with families for the Easter celebration. There were all types of activities underway from Paddle Boats on the Medina River to Volleyball and of course fishing.
To see the families having such a good time was a real joy for us.
We continue to see more people that are coming here for the first time and enjoying themselves.
There were also a number of people that were traveling through the area and decided to stay with us for a few days.

A few of the things that we are working on:
- A Cross Country Course for horses is in the works. We are working with a group of competition riders to design a one of a kind course not currently available in this part of Texas.
- We are now a full selection RV Parts Dealer -- we have access to over 17000 various RV Parts from Air Conditioners to Awing Repair Tape and everything in between. Watch for the launch of the online portion of this venture in the near future.
- We continue to get inquiries about us hosting Events at the park. We have partnered with suppliers of all types to support virtually any size outdoor event and the extent of what we can provide is only limited by the imagination.
- We continue to expand our Lower Campground along the river making more spots available for both Day Use and Overnight Visitors.
- There are some other surprises on the way so check back here and on our website at Alamo River RV Ranch Resort

We are getting ready for the weekend here at Alamo River. We continue to have new guests get in touch with us for Easter.
If you are interested in camping over the Easter weekend make sure to get in touch with us.
There are some things we are working on that we think will be exciting!
Check back for some announcements coming soon.
The Medina River continues to be a little muddy from the recent rains but we have had reports of fish being taken here. I guess they don't care if it is muddy or not. :)
If you have gone to our website at www.alamoriver.com then keep checking back for some new sections we will be launching soon that we think you will find interesting.
That's it for now...will write again soon.

Great Weekend!
We had a great weekend here at Alamo River!
We had a Church Youth Group that spent the weekend and they "had a blast" in the words of the Youth Leader -- and they said they would be back! Those words are very important for us to hear -- it means that we were able to provide what they were looking for.
We had a chance, while making our rounds, to meet a lot of people tent camping with us and we thoroughly enjoyed speaking with them and sharing our campground stories.
We have had a lot of people that have come in that frankly didn't know we were here. Our IT (Information Technology) staff has been working overtime to make sure the word is getting out about our campground and according to the number of people that came in this past weekend -- it is working! :)
Check us out on Facebook or Signup for our Newsletter by using the signup form right here on our blog.
Speaking of IT -- we just got the last piece of our new WiFi System in place and according to our guest -- "It Rocks!"
For people that live on the road full time, of which we have quite a few, the Internet is essential to them. So dependable, fast and accessible WiFi is very important. We know this well -- since some of us are Full-Time as well.
Oh, we also had some horse riders show up too! The horses were beautiful and looked so good going down the trails here.
We are getting quite a few reservations for Easter and if you are following us here and are wanting to come on Easter Weekend -- just let us know. We are now reserving sites for that weekend.
That is all for today -- stop back again soon!

Somerset Fire and Rescue Visiting Us for Training...
So last night we had the pleasure of watching the Somerset (Texas) Fire and Rescue - Water Rescue Team train on the river off our lower campground. We were thrilled that we could give them a training area.
It was very interesting to watch them do what they do.
...and they trained at night!
This team was very professional and methodical in their approach.
What a comfort to know this kind of dedication and talent is out there to serve!
Thank you for your service!

Campfires...Stories...Laughter...and the Memories...
One of the great things about a campground is all the great people we meet. They come from all over the country and with them they bring their unique personalities and of course great stories.
This is a very diverse country and few places bring people together like a campground.
Sitting around the campfires at night is a wonderful experience as these traits come together in an environment of relaxation and while surrounded by the great outdoors.
For those that haven't experienced camping it is something everyone should do at least once in their lifetime.
There is a feeling of satisfaction in being instrumental in providing the environment for the such gatherings.
This is one of our goals at Alamo River to provide the opportunity for people to meet if they choose or to enjoy some solitude if that is what they are looking for. It really doesn't matter -- as long as it makes for happiness.
Over the years some of our greatest memories have been remembering the people we have had the honor to meet.
While eventually they travel on down the road we are left with a gift of having met them, even if for a brief while, and the memories that will last a lifetime.
I think campgrounds allow us to live our life in moments -- and realize the significance of the moments of our lives. It is so easy to allow the minutes to tick away unnoticed as we go about our hurried lives.
Ah...but the joy of slowing down -- taking time to watch the little ones catch a fish or two and see the wonderment in their eyes -- or the laughter that comes about as we reminisce of past experiences around the campfire.
I guess it really it is about making memories -- memories that stay with us for a long time.
This is all part of the journey that makes life so special.
I guess I need to end this for today -- I need to get the makings for some Smores together!
